What many people saw as a barrier – gated traffic island and hard-to-navigate streets – we saw as an opportunity to create a place where people could not only walk, but unwind.

Freeman Plaza East

Through our partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the City of New York, we transformed the traffic islands into open spaces with tables, chairs, and shade, and the spaces next to them into an enjoyable walking experience. These open spaces are great places to hang out, clear your mind, and let your imagination fly.
