Pedestrian Traffic Managers
We hired Pedestrian Traffic Managers (PTMs) to make sure Hudson Square is a safe place for the people who work, live, and visit the neighborhood – not just for the cars passing through on their way to New Jersey.
Pedestrian Traffic Managers are retired law enforcement agents contracted through Sam Schwartz Pedestrian Traffic Management Services on behalf of the BID to supplement NYC’s Traffic Enforcement Agents. The job of the PTMs is to ensure our pedestrians can safely and comfortably cross Varick Street during the evening rush.
The results demonstrate a positive impact:
@HudsonSquareNYC Hudson Sq staff or volunteer who’s at Varick rn deserves major props for looking out for pedestrians in cray traffic FYI!
